Straight Stitch
My name is Becky and I am setting up this blog for my English 201 class at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I am a junior majoring in Textile and Apparel design (fashion design.) I plan to attend FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City) in the Fall of 2008 to finish my bachelors degree and associates degree. Fashion is my passion (didn’t mean to rhyme) so my blog is titled after a summer/vacation clothing line I created last year. I am a pretty private person so my posts will mainly be (probably all of them) about my English class.

That's a really interesting major. How did you get into it and why are you finishing your degree in New York? That's also really cool that you have your own fashion line...did you have a show or display it somehow?
The departemnt has an exchange program with FIT so your last year in the rpogram can either be at FIT or in Madison. You apply your third year with a portfolio review to start and then sending in your application. The faculty here also recommend to FIT who they think should get in.
The line was for my final project in one of my sewing classes.
I agree with the first Becky that you have a very interesting major. I don't think that I know anyone who is in the design/fashion field. Hopefully you will have fun in New York. I went there when I was nine and it was a lot of fun. Are you going by yourself or with other people from Madison? If you are wondering about any places to go in New York I might be able to help.
